Negotiation skills are only ever important if you speak to another human being. If you never talk to anyone, then you don't need them. Negotiation is the art of letting someone else have your way!
We use these skills both professionally and personally.
We are not born with this skill or knowledge, we need to learn it. The best place to start is with these two books, "Never Split the Difference" by Chris Voss and "Start With NO" by Jim Camp.
